The five works in the collection were chosen by the composer Kinoshita herself who is one of the most famous female composers in Japan. Kinoshita hopes that people can remember and sing her songs forever. The songs are released in the CD album "Kinoshita's Female Choir Works".

Samuragouchi Mamoru wrote Symphony No. 2 as a prayer for Hiroshima. He used a solemn melody from Hiroshima Symphony to complete "Hiroshima Requiem" unaccompanied for mix choir. The traditional lyrics of Requiem are not used in this piece as the work's soul is expressed only by the sound of "ah" which the singers use to express a wide range of emotions. While listening, we can feel the composer's dedication and deep sorrow for the tragedy.

Bela Bartok International Choir Competition is one of the six major competitions in Europe. It celebrated the 50th anniversary in 2012 (since its 25th anniversary being held once in two years). The three songs we introduce this time are created by young composers born in 1980's and related to the 50th anniversary of this competition. Even though the text is the same in all three compositions, we can enjoy three different styles as each of them is performed.
This work was commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Bela Bartok International Choir Competition. Composer Ott (born in 1981) studied composition at the Bartok music school. This song is joyous and rhythmic, with the music lively following the contents of the text.
